儿 歌 和 童 谣
Song & Rhyme
Songs and rhymes are very important in early childhood education. By often singing songs and reciting rhymes, you can promote your child’s language awareness and emotional development. In our preschool, the children and the teachers sing lots of songs and recite lots of rhymes all the time, especially in our circle time.

xiǎo mǎ yǐ
小 蚂 蚁
Little Ant
(This rhyme is created by Sarah Stansfield, who is a very intelligent girl. She and her sister Anna were the first students of our preschool. Now, they have all graduated from here. We present Sarah’s rhyme here in order not to forget it.)

The little ant’s legs crawl and crawl.

dà píng guǒ
大 苹 果
Big Apple
(Washing hands is a very effective way to protect your child from many contagious diseases. Before meals/snacks and after outside play/toileting, make sure to let your child use soap and water to wash hands for at least 15 seconds. For adding fun to hand-washing, you can count numbers or recite this rhyme with your child.)
wǒ shì yī gè dà píng guǒ

数 字 歌
Counting Rhyme
(One of principles of early childhood education is learning by playing. Numbers are abstract concepts to children. Never force a child to learn. You might want to try some of our strategies: teaching numbers by singing and playing with children.)

(This song is translated from the English Clean-up Song. We sing clean-up song each day right before our circle time to let the children have a transition time and settle down their mind from free play to group learning.)

liǎng zhī lǎo hǔ 两 只 老 虎 Two Tigers
(Two Tigers is a classic Chinese song. Believe or not, children love nonsense songs and rhymes. It’s a phenomenon of early literacy. Maybe that’s why Dr. Seuss’ books have been always so popular.)
liǎng zhī lǎo hǔ 两 只 老 虎, Two tigers.
